What is 42Codon?
42Codon ApS is an independent electronic music label based in Copenhagen, Denmark. We specialize in psytrance, techno, and acid — genres defined by hypnotic rhythms, layered synthesizers, and relentless forward motion.
The name 42Codon draws from biology and mathematics: a codon is a sequence of three nucleotides that forms a unit of genetic information — a building block of life. 42 is, of course, the answer. Together, they represent the idea that music is a fundamental code — precise, repeating, evolving.
Vision
We believe electronic music is at its best when it takes you somewhere. Not just to a dancefloor, but to a state of mind. Our releases are built for journeys — whether that's an outdoor festival at sunrise, a basement club at 4am, or headphones on a late-night train.
We're driven by sound design, structure, and energy. Every release goes through an obsessive process of refinement — until the groove is undeniable and the sound is fully realized.
